Lesson 48 – Fading the Ball

A fade is a controlled slice that finishes at your intended target.  A fade can get you extra distance around a dogleg, escape around tree trouble, or find a flag on the right hand side of a green.

To feel the impact of a fade, place your right hand and arm in a handshake position.  Now supinate it very slightly.

Next, do it with a club in your outstretched arm.  Supinate slightly and you'll see the blade is a little bit open.  This will create the slice spin we need.  To counter the spin we will aim and swing . . .
