Lesson 43 – Divot Errors: Fat and Thin Shots

"Keep your head down!"

"You took your eye off the ball!"

These are two of the most common sayings I hear at the driving range every day.   Golfers believe that they must do both of these things to avoid topping the ball.  This is the biggest myth in golf!

Actually fat shots (too much grass behind the ball) and thin shots (no grass at all - ball rockets in a low line drive) are closely related, not opposite to each other.  Both are caused by the low point of your swing arc being behind the ball.
